The Opportunity
This is a 3 month paid internship working in person from our Belgrade, Serbia office. The internship will start in June or July 2025, based on your availability.
Build on your studies and expand your technical and professional skills while exploring a career in software engineering. During your internship, you will immerse yourself in some of the software industry’s most interesting and cutting-edge technology as you solve complex engineering challenges. Our team in Serbia is growing, offering you limitless opportunities to strengthen your skills beyond the classroom, through hands-on technical projects and collaboration with a team of experienced technical professionals.

Our software engineering team in Serbia is the largest in Europe, consisting of 60 engineers, spanning 5 different product groups and a wide spectrum of technologies.

What You’ll Do
- Our interns work across a range of teams and projects spanning a variety of technology areas, including, but not limited to:
- Hypervisors built from open-source technologies
- Full multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud database engines
- Virtual machine dynamic scheduling
- Distributed systems, distributed storage, and platform deployment
- Linux kernel development
- Performance and scale of storage systems, and more!
- Apply your skills and knowledge from your degree to one or more real-world projects to help enhance the speed, efficiency and/or functionality of our products
- Shadow our engineers to learn and improve your skills related to a variety of technologies and tools
- Work with a mentor to define your project objectives and key results
- Learn, grow and explore with training and mentoring from our experienced team of technical experts in Serbia and across the larger team
What You’ll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Less than 2 years of related professional experience
- Fluency in at least one of the following languages: Java, C, C++, Python, or Golang
- A passion for problem-solving

The Process
We understand you are pursuing multiple employment options. Please note these important dates.
- Application Screening: We will review your application to understand your unique talents and skills in relation to our opportunities
- Online Technical Assessment: We will review your foundational skills
- Baseline coding skills assessment in the language of your choice
- Technical interviews with our hiring teams to showcase your skills
- Students who advance to this round will receive preparation and details on any pre-assignments to complete prior to the interviews
- Expect up to 4 interviews with Nutanix engineers. These are designed to assess your technical skills and role readiness, motivation for the opportunity at Nutanix, and when required, a pre-assignment aligned to the role you’ll be playing on our team. Each meeting will offer you an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the team you’ll potentially work with
- Final Decision: Offers extended to finalists within 2 weeks of technical interview
